Every day, we lose another voice that remembers what life was really like in South Philadelphia during the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s.

I Remember It Well... is a traveling memory museum dedicated to preserving those stories before they are lost forever. Through oral histories, historic photographs, artifacts, maps, and community participation, the museum celebrates the everyday lives of ordinary people whose memories helped shape Philadelphia's history.

" We are the last generation who can tell this story from memory."

WHY THIS PROJECT MATTERS

Every day, we lose another voice that remembers what life was really like in South Philadelphia during the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s.

History books preserve facts.

This project preserves memories.

The voices we record today will become tomorrow's history

WHAT YOU'LL EXPERIENCE
